There is an inextricable link between the land and folklore, the land shapes the people and the stories they tell. Inis highlights the link between nature and folklore to reimagine this classic tale in a contemporary way.
The rugged coastal landscape and wildlife of Ireland are the main inspiration for the colour palette and materiality. The ethereal and intangible elements of the story are interpreted through fabric, texture and movement. Light, flowing fabrics such as silks or light cotton will feature to emulate the otherworldly perfection of Niamh and Tír Na nÓg, contrasting that with heavy wools and linens to reference Oisín and the Irish landscape.
